Another component of having safe places for our children is the proper implementation of a sound Community Policing program effort with evidence-based policing. This approach will enable Law Enforcement and the Community to get to know and work together. Our community benefits when we have a working relationship with Law Enforcement based on mutual respect and openness. The implementation of a Police Athletic League (PAL) would provide opportunities for some of our children who may not have the proper social development skills, support network, or just need positive reinforcement to help guide them along the way. Such relationships help to build rapport, support, and community relations. These opportunities enhance the community and create a more attractive and safer environment for us all. The implementation of the first Holistic Approach to Policing in Hinesville by the way of the MSP Teams will consist of a Mental Health Professional, Social Worker and Police or Law Enforcement Professional trained in de-escalation tactics. This small investment equates to a safer community, with a “Serve and Protect” approach. Our community would become more attractive to its citizens, visitors, potential businesses and investment opportunities wanting to relocate to our town.
